Community Coffee Morning
The Gap Community Centre was buzzing with activity on Monday 30th April, as nearly 40 local older residents and carers attended a Community Coffee and Information Morning, to learn about how they can protect themselves in an increasingly challenging society.
Matt Weston (MP) joined the event, spending over an hour talking to different people about issues they were facing and putting them in contact with his office to ensure concerns would be addressed. Also present were Laura Clarke from Equip (Equality and Inclusion Partnership). Siobhan Allen from Natwest the community banker, Louise Wilson from Healthwatch Warwickshire, Alison Conway from Age UK. Finally, the local PCSO came along too.
The Gap’s Older People’s Activities Coordinator and events organiser, Christine Cherry said ” The main aim of the morning was to give our local older adults easy access to the type of information and advice that they might not be able to access easily in day to day life, all whilst enjoying The Gap’s welcoming and comfortable surroundings”.
