Fundraising

The Gap Community Centre relies on a combination of room rental, grants and donations for financial sustainability. Your donation, gift or support is vitally important and could make a real difference to the 1000’s of people who use our services every year.

There are many ways you could support us. These include:

  • Organise a Fundraiser or Sponsored Event
  • Corporate Sponsorship
  • Make a Donation
  • Leave a Legacy
  • Regular Giving
  • Matched Giving
  • Payroll Giving

Organise A Fundraiser Or Sponsored Event

We would be delighted if you decided to organise a fundraising event on behalf of The Gap. Whether you’ve held lots of fundraising events before or this is your first time we have created a fundraising pack, which aims to be a helpful guide to the practicalities of fundraising. The pack also contains over 20 different fundraising suggestions from A Charity Ball to Who’s That Baby.

If you would like a fundraising pack, would like someone from The Gap to attend a cheque presentation or need any further information about sponsoring our Centre, please contact Sara French on:

When we receive your donation we will always send a letter to acknowledge your support and publicise this on Facebook and Twitter as a thank you for your generous support

Corporate Sponsorship

Over 2000 people come through our doors every month, which means there is huge potential for corporate sponsors to increase their awareness and business potential by supporting The Gap. News of your support will also be published on our website and on social media and we would also endeavour to gain valuable press coverage in the local newspapers. Call Sara on 01926 494200 for more information.

Leave A Legacy

Leave a legacy in your Will to The Gap Community Centre. Your legacy can help us to improve our sustainability and increase the amount of services we can offer to families, young people, older adults and individuals who need additional support or training. Maybe you would prefer your legacy to be used for a specific part of our work e.g. sponsoring a Youth Worker post or improving our facilities. Whatever you choose, you can rest assured we would respect your wishes fully.

Matched Giving

Some employers offer a ‘matched giving’ scheme where they match or double your gift at no extra cost to you. Ask your employer is they offer a ‘matched giving’ scheme for staff who make regular donations through the Give As You Earn scheme.

Make A Donation

There are many ways you can make a donation to The Gap Community Centre. No matter how large or small, your donation will help us to continue to provide help and support to the most vulnerable members of our local community.

Gift Aid your donation here. If you are a UK taxpayer we can reclaim the tax you have paid on every donation you make at no extra cost to you. Please send us your completed form.

Regular Giving

With regular giving you can donate as much or as little as you choose each month, quarter or year. Simply set up a regular standing order, and The Gap Community Centre will benefit from your support on a regular basis. Please contact us for the bank account details.

Payroll Giving

If you are in paid employment you might like to consider making a regular donation to The Gap Community Centre through payroll giving.

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or GAYE) is a tax-free way of giving regularly to The Gap Community Centre, making it one of the most efficient ways of supporting us.

How Payroll Giving works: Each time you are paid, a donation is deducted by your Payroll Department before your tax is calculated e.g. if you are a basic rate taxpayer and you pledge £5 per month you pay just £4. The taxman will add the remaining £1 at no cost to you! If you are a higher rate taxpayer then it will cost you even less to donate £5 to The Gap Community Centre.
