Older Adults Activities Assistant
9 hours per week (£8.00 per hour)
*IMPORTANT* – No CV’s please
If you enjoy working in a fun, supportive and unique environment, this could be the job for you.
The Gap Community Centre has an extensive activity programme which is designed to help local older adults meet new people, learn new skills and remain happy, healthy and independent into their later years. Social isolation is a big issue amongst many older people and The Gap’s aim is to reduce loneliness within this age group, by providing an array of activities which appeal to a variety of tastes.
We need a capable, reliable and empathetic individual to support the Older Adults Activities Coordinator in the promotion and provision of existing activities/events and the implementation of new projects. Ideally, you will have previously worked in a similar role, however, this is not an essential requirement. However, you must have an understanding of the issues faced by older people and you must be able to communicate effectively, be organised and have a strong ‘can do’ attitude. This is predominantly a weekday role, however, you may, on occasion, be required to work evenings and weekends.
In return, we can offer you competitive rates of pay, flexible working hours and the opportunity to join our pension scheme.
Closing date is 9.00am on Friday 20th October with interviews being held w/c Monday 23rd October 2017.
