Warwick West (2015-2018)

In 2015, The Gap competed on a tender bid to deliver another 3-year project in the Warwick West area. The Gap was successful in the bid and was commissioned to deliver community services between 2015-2018, this time focussing on the Packmores area.

The current Warwick West project involves managing the day to day of the Packmores Centre, previously managed by WDC, and delivering activities and services to cover 8 priority areas:

  • Volunteering
  • Building Capacity
  • Mental Health
  • Older People
  • Early Intervention
  • Financial Inclusion
  • Helping People into Work

These 8 priority areas represent a wide range of services and activities that are only achieved by collaborative work. Therefore, The Gap works with many organisations to ensure that the local community have their needs met.

In addition to this, our very popular Silvertops Group (formerly Activitea), which was set up when The Gap first won the WDC Warwick West tender in 2012, continues to grow.  This exercise, arts, crafts and lunch group aimed at older adults aged 55+, is held between 11.00am and 2.00pm in St Paul’s Church, Friars Street, Warwick, CV34 6HA.  This project has already successfully alleviated social isolation and helped improved the health and wellbeing of over 50 older adults living in the Warwick area and will carry on providing an important lifeline to many people in years to come. Anyone is welcome to pop along – just contact Lauren on 01926 492488 for more details.
